Kay-Michael Schanz has many years of legal experience in renowned international or internationally oriented law firms such as Coudert Schürmann and Schalast, but also as a sole practitioner. Prior to starting his career as a lawyer, he was a Managing Partner at Hauck & Aufhäuser Corporate Finance GmbH. Schanz began his career as Assistant to the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Commerzbank. Subsequently, he worked in investment banking in the area of capital markets/derivative financial instruments, then in the area of privatisations/M&A until, after almost ten years, he switched to SBC Warburg, where he was responsible in Frankfurt and London for providing support services for large corporations and the public sector in the area of corporate finance. Kay-Michael Schanz has authored numerous publications on corporate finance. In addition, he taught “Corporate Finance” (focus on M&A, Private Equity and IPOs) at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management as well as at the Shanghai International Banking and Finance Institute for more than six years. He also holds seminars for event organizers such as C.H. Beck and IFF.

With his practical experience as a banker and lawyer at the interface between law and finance, Kay-Michael Schanz provides consulting services for mid-sized and young companies primarily in corporate and capital markets law, with regard to financing rounds as well as all forms of corporate transactions (e.g. M&A). For him, creativity coupled with practical experience and commitment to the client are the basis of all problem-solving, forward-looking consulting services. Kay-Michael Schanz is furthermore focusing on Restructuring.
